Wow! She really flipped the song and showed that the lyrics are actually quit pretty. I knew little to nothing on this new artist other than her “Dollhouse” record, but after this, I’m anxious to find out more. Great performance.
This is an older clip of Richgirl, Rich Harrison’s (Crazy In Love) new female group, singing acapella. Information has slowed done on the ladies and their debut album. If this clip is any indication of the harmonies and creativity found on their debut effort, then I’m sure success is in Richgirl’s future.
Check out the clip for D. Woods’ new song “Legalize Me.” For an independent video, the quality was actually pretty good. I’m still on the fence with the song, but the drug methaphor used throughout the track is actually clever.

Mary is set up to release her 1000000th studio album, “Stronger with Each Tear” in December. Stripped, timeless, elegant. Really loving the cover. In a time where everyone is trying their hardest to rock every piece of fashion piece available, it’s refreshing to see Mary bringing the same organic sound and look that made her a star. While the Queen is still serving up the goods with the sound and packaging, I must say the album title, “Stronger with each Tear,” still brings to mind the same old sorrow filled Mary. We get it Mary. K-Ci hurt you. Time to move on.

Monica’s new reality show, “Still Standing,” has shown a steady decline in ratings since its premiere in October. The decline may be due to the fact that the show is everything that the normal BET program is not: smart, mature, and engaging. Although I highly enjoyed watching the inspirational episodes of “Tiny and Toya,” many other reality shows by the “Star Network” simply fall short (see Frankie and Neffe and College Hill). Support something new and help a true talent in the process. Monica, “Still Standing,” Tuesdays at 10/9c.
Before heading to the stores to buy, check out full album previews of Rihanna’s “Rated R”, the current “Fame Monster” Lady Gaga, and the man everyone can’t stop talking about, Adam Lambert’s “For Your Enterntainment.” Previews available at Billboard through link below.
As a pre-teen, my bedroom was filled with nothing but Aaliyah posters. Carefully ripped pages from Word-Up featuring Aaliyah covered almost every wall in my room. Babygirl was 1/3 of the holy trinity of young female rnb singers of the 90s. The other two of course being Brandy and Monica. While all of the young ladies enjoyed success during that time, Aaliyah had a certain swagger that made it somewhat ok for her face to be plastered all over a young boy’s walls. Information has cooled recently regarding the Bill Condon (we’re you’re Dddreeamgiirls) directed bio-pic. Last I heard, Keisha Chante was signed on to play Aaliyah. I hope that goes through. I would definitely fall in line to see it.
Thierry Mugler has recently drawn new admirers as the costume designer of Beyonce’s latest tour. His current shows do show a calmer, more mainstream view of fashion, but the overall construction of his designs still reveal a sign of the same ideas that made his 90′s shows show appealing. Not liking the polka dots though. No love there. Overall, a good show.
***sidebar….I’m loving this new trend of throwing a leather jacket over a dress. Try it on ladies.
